Airlines are flying slower…seriously.
I wonder how they will spin this…they save millions of dollars in fuel, and only add 2 minutes to the length of the flight.
BUT - will the consumer ever see lower ticket fares when and if fuel prices ever go lower than a jet’s flight path again?
Passengers and airlines have a hate/hate relationship it seems. I wonder if the airlines can spin this into a net positive across the board: perhaps with a mix of “green” messaging as well as a pledge to keep fares low or reduce fares if fuel prices dip.
We’ll see…
